ABSTRACT : Goals to be achieved in this study is to know
the description of emotional intelligence in adolescent users
of online games in junior high school. In this study re-
searchers used a descriptive approach, the type of research
that provide an overview or description of a situation as
clearly as possible without any treatment (manipulation)
of the object under study (Kountur, 2005). Participants
in this study were junior high school teen sex male - men
and women who met at Blizz Net and aged 12-15 years.
Number of participants in this study were 60 participants
but only 54 participants can be analyzed the data. Data
collection was conducted using a questionnaire to measure
the use of online games on teenagers, and the emotional in-
telligence scale which was adapted from a scale developed
by Fitri (2010) based on aspects of emotional intelligence.
To measure emotional intelligence tested the validity and
reliability with Cronbach Alpha technique. Based on these
aspects of emotional intelligence is more prevalent among
adolescents in junior high users online game is to recognize
other people's emotions or empathy, social skills second,
third to recognize emotions, motivating oneself fourth, and
