RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INTENSITY WATCHING ROMANTIC DRAMA MOVIES WITH PRE-MARTIAL SEX TRENDS IN ADOLESCENT

Abstract


Mass media have a positive or negative
in
uence that may aect the behavior of adolescents. One
of the negative in
uence of mass media on adolescent pre-
marital sex is a tendency in teenagers. Several theories ex-
plaining the relationship between the intensity of romantic
drama movies with premarital sex trend which means that
ideally if the intensity of the high romantic drama movie is
also a high tendency of premarital sex, and yet in reality not
everyone watching the lm with the intensity of the high ro-
mantic drama has a tendency sex the higher the prenuptial.
This study aims to test empirically the relationship is there
between the intensity of romantic drama movies with ado-
lescent premarital sexual tendencies. The population in this
study is that a student late adolescent psychology degree be-
ginning of the semester in Gunadarma University, Depok.
Selected sample is late teens who have an age range of 18
to 21 years who loves romantic drama lm and television
more than 4 hours in a day as many as 60 people. The pur-
posive sampling using sampling techniques. Validity test is
done by calculating the correlation between scores on each
item with total score of the item using engineering formu-
las korela the Pearson Product Moment. In the reliability
testing using Cronbach Alpha technique. Methods of data
analysis was done by using one-tailed Pearson Bivariate cor-
relation. From the results of data analysis known tendency
of premarital sex and the intensity of romantic drama movie
on the test for correlation of 0.658 with a signicant level
of 0.000 (p <0.0 /), is thus seen a very signicant positive
relationship between the intensity of watching a romantic
drama with a tendency premarital sex among adolescents.
