Abstract

This study aims to determine how attitudes toward teen sex
education in Authoritarian parents are given to teenagers
and what are the barriers experienced by parents of children
in communicating Authoritarian and sex education. Atti-
tude is the response that has negative and positive direction
towards an object which is the predisposition of behavior.
Everyone has a dierent attitude to a problem, let alone
a person's attitude toward sex education, especially how
say order to understand other people. Open communica-
tion and accurate information from parents in the delivery
of sex will make teen sexual behavior to be more responsi-
ble. When communication about sex conducted earlier, the
function will prevent the more obvious, but if the commu-
nication is done after intercourse occurs the communication
will encourage children to have sex. Parenting a parent is a
parent's behavior in dealing with their children, which in-
cludes many specic behaviors that work individually and
provide a change to the two sides. Parenting itself con-
sists of several types of authoritarian parenting, permissive
parenting, parenting authoritative, and parenting is not in-
volved. According to Maccoby Mcloyd (in Berk 1989) there
are several factors that aect parenting parents economic
namely social, educational level, the values ??adopted par-
ents, personality, and the number of children. Therefore,
parenting style of parents will in
uence the development of
children, especially adolescents in understanding sex edu-
cation. Subjects in this study is a pair of Authoritarian
parents who have children who are still sitting at seat of
school and one signicant other. This study uses interviews
with open standardized guidelines, in this type of interview
can be conducted according to the specied sequence, and
asked the same way on dierent respondents. Observations
used are nonparticipant observation, the observer only per-
forms the function of conducting research. Based on the
overall results and discussion obtained in this case study it
can be concluded that, parenting two subjects in educat-
ing children, including Authoritarian. Nevertheless the two
subjects attitudes toward sex education tend to be positive,
visible from the cognitive component (ideas, concepts, and
beliefs (beliefs / convictions)), according to the two sub-
jects that better sex education is given or delivered at home
and at school so that children understand more and parents
do not feel worried iv with the information obtained. The
Conative component (behave trend), as do the two
subjects in collaboration with the school to inform each
other about their children's behavior at school everyday.
Mutually discuss both subjects before delivering sex educa-
tion so that children understand what they convey. While
the aective component (related to the emotional life),
where both subjects preferred / better to not tell their
children about sex, so the subject was concerned when chil-
dren start asking about sex. But both remain the subject
will give an explanation to his son with an understanding
of children in general, despite the fact that both subjects
fear one in pass. Barriers experienced Authoritarian par-
ents and children to communicate sex education that is,
where both subjects were still thinking that better sex ed-
ucation is given when a child is an adult only. In addition,
less open attitude of the two subjects to their children in
everything that makes the child becomes confused what to
