Abstract

The learning pro-cess experienced by a person especially occurring in a cam-pus environment will obtain the results of the evaluation oflearning achievement is said to be normally expressed in theform of grades or grade point average (GPA). On students, one way to adapt in the environment is to form a campusgroup of friends (peer group). The longer individuals knoweach other, then the group of friends will be increasinglytight (cohesive). Students who have high cohesiveness peergroup will support each other to improve the study achieve-ment. This research aims to test empirically the relation-ship between the cohesiveness with the peer group learningon student achievement. research Subjects used by the re-searcher is a student of psychology faculty at GunadarmaUniversity about 100 research subjects uses a quantitativeapproach. To measure the peer group cohesiveness is to usepeer group cohesiveness scale based component of the com-ponent peer group cohesiveness, while for measuring learn-ing achievement is to use data grade point average (GPA).The results of this study the validity of the items in the peergroup cohesiveness scale moves from 0332 until 0674 with areliability of 0.943. Based on the results of data analysis, itis known the value of the correlation coecient of r = 0.371with a signicance level of 0.000 (p <0.01). This means thereis a very signicant positive relationship between peer groupcohesiveness with student learning achievement in the psy-chology faculty at Gunadarma University, where the highercohesiveness peer group, the higher the academic achieve-ment, conversely the lower the cohesiveness peer group, thelower academic achievement.
