THE ANALYSIS OF CHARGES AGAINST WORKERS LIFT REMOVAL PVC IN PT STATOMER BY USING EQUATION TREATMENT OF APPOINTMENT NIOSH.

Abstract


PT. Statomer represents chemical companies that still use manual materials
handling, which is to transport the sacks of Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) still rely
on human power. Manual materials handling jobs at PT. Statomer consists of
lifting, carrying, and laying. These activities lead to some complaints from PVC
transport workers. PT. Statomer also did not notice the load lifted by the worker
in accordance with a maximum lift limits of human under study in the science of
ergonomics. This study aims to determine the transport process of Poly Vinyl
Chloride (PVC) manually by workers at the PT. Statomer. Knowing complaints
arising from manual materials handling activities PVC. Analyzing complaints
PVC manual worker. Giving rokemendasi workers transported the load limit
based on Improved methods NIOSH Lifting Equation.. Statomer to work
transporting sacks of PVC are still using manual labor. The sample used is that
there are workers in the packing as many as 27 workers and the burden carried
by workers for every sack of 25 kg. The method used to determine the level of
complaints is by giving questionnaires to the workers body map, whereas for
maximum lift limits using NIOSH Lifting Equation Improved method, using
software tools such as Ergoweb ® JET. Results showed, at most parts of the
body of workers complained of pain in her right shoulder, upper back and lower
back. Charges raised by the worker does not comply with safety limit and show
that the burden of PVC in the appointment of PT Statomer result in spinal injury
risk because the value of LI> 1.
