ROOF GARDEN IN THE BUILDING APPLICATIONS (CASE STUDY : JAKARTA CENTRE HOTEL ARYADUTA

Abstract


Roof garden is apark that is not located in the yard or building as usual,but was on the roof or on top of building as a form of green-ing the environment. Based on the types of crops grown,growing media depth and frequency of maintenance, roofgarden is divided into two types : intensive roof garden andextensive roof garden. Roof garden that is used by HotelAryaduta Jakarta is the kind of intensive roof garden. Ho-tel Aryaduta using the roof garden on the area around theswimming pool located on the third oor. On the hotel roofgarden is dominated by pots and troughs of plants. Prob-lems that often occur in this Aryaduta Hotel roof gardenis the problem of leaks and puddles. Roof garden at HotelAryaduta serves as a aesthetics that create beauty and com-fort in buildings, improving air quality, and decrease the airtemperature around the park. However, the roof gardenat Hotel Aryaduta was not too focused on building energysavings.
